Captain Donovan Tyne wandered the arboretum, hands clasped behind his back, a PADD dangling from his fingertips. The beauty of the manufactured oasis wasn't helping; he wanted to be on Risa. He was so far from home, far from any movement of water, the surf, and it was a constricting feeling. Phillips had seen that the crew of the Talon got some much needed time off, but Tyne did, too, especially if it involved scantily clad women and surfing. True, the holodeck managed a reasonable experience, but the unpredictability of women was what he truly longed to encounter. Life after Chloe had been tough and very few people understood how he really felt about the whole thing.
Taking a seat on a nearby bench, he watched the progression of aliens and humans take a step, wait, take another step, and wait again as they moved through the food line at the buffet. Tyne had lost his appetite after hearing about Risa. Sighing, he flicked the power on the PADD and began the tedious paperwork involved when one is the Captain of a station. Thus far, no repercussions had been felt from the digital beings that had taken over the Talon and used DS10 as a launch pad back into space. He tried to pry into the files of those Phillips had detained as part of an ongoing investigation, but they were sealed, even to his high security clearance. That, in and of itself, made him even more curious.
As he sat, multiple residents of the station came up to him with small problems that someone else should have solved for them, but Tyne helped each and every one of them in a calm, pleasant manner. He knew it was inevitable when out in public alone, but the lure of the greenery drew him to that bench more often than he'd like to admit. A pair of legs appeared in his peripheral vision as he finished taking care of one such problem. "How can I help you," he asked before looking up to see who it was.
