There was a saying in the human world that size mattered. Today, not so much. Stools were pulled up, piles of PADDs were used, and even the body of an unlucky Ensign with long hair all stood in for supports to elevate the thirty-some-odd Vots as they went about their nefarious work on the battle bridge.
An hour ago, they had all been tightly gathered for a meeting to discuss the acquisition of another key bit of information necessary for their future plans, but now they were diligently working on taking over a Sovereign class vessel, with the help of a security access code they had overheard while one of them clung to the ceiling in Engineering. Cups of a strong herbal beverage rested nearby several of the Vots and the room was taking on a distinctive haze from the medicinal weeds that were burning in their wrappers as they were inhaled through mouth slits.
"B'bo'b'bo'b'bgab'ob has just deactivated the Bridge computers," "Bob" announced, pleased with himself. "Has K'to'to'k'to'k'kdab'to managed to access the core?"
"Not yet," "K'to replied. He was frustrated with the lack of progress. "Soon." It was a lie, but he didn't want to disappoint B'bo'b'bo'b'bgab'ob, especially this early in a mission.
Others continued their attempts to interfere with various other key elements of the ship while one Vot was hurriedly working on setting up a perimeter weapons system. No one was getting in without being blasted into atoms.
Bob shifted his position on top of the body of the Ensign, digging his three inch claws for stability. Taking a long drag, he savored the mind-accelerating feelings before blowing out an extended stream of smoke as he worked. It was slow going, though. The humanoid interface was cumbersome for those without fingers.
