"I'm shocked to hear you complain, Cadet, especially with Admiral Landeck acting as your patron."
Nevir let his lip go. Sure, Landeck tried to promote him, but he wasn't exactly there to stop Monroe from kicking him out of Starfleet. But the look on Coardi's face was enough to silence him further. They continued kicking back and forth ideas of what happened, but it was Coardi who surprised them with the answers.
"However I believe I have an explanation of sorts, although what brought everything on is as mysterious as anything."
She went into a discussion about walking through a rift and bumping into... him.... Lieutenant him. And how he tried to fix this. Trying to fix it, and not making things worst. His mind went back to his time on the Luna, when it seemed like he could do no wrong. That he could be the one to actually fix things. A simpler time, before his slap of reality on the Talon.
"Different possible universes, different possible USS Talons, different possible Isaacs, I see,"
"An infinite amount, I'm afraid."
"... but only one could be the cause, right? One out of an infinite amount..." he said, shaking his head, almost sadly. "It would have to be shear luck to find out which Talon is the source. You don't think Lily is involved, do you?"
"It's all quite complicated and I'm not entirely sure what we can do from here,"
"I may have found something that could shed a bit more light on this place at least. It's Starfleet debris. This could be the grave of a ship."
"When Mandy and I found ourselves in the water, my foot was caught on something. It was something metal, like a sheet." he said, finally opening the hand that was cut. "The slice was sharp and perfect, and the object was perfectly flat and thin."
"I would agree with you, Mr. Ambassador. There will surely be more evidence to excavate but I'm not entirely sure how this could have come to pass. When I walked onto the alternate Talon everything seemed more or less contained. Every energy spike was within the hull of the ship, but if the Talon is torn to shreds then why are we here?"
"That would narrow things down. The theory in the multiverse suggests that if a doorway opened, it would have to be a fixed point. You couldn't step through a door on Vulcan and end up on Earth, not unless in that universe the two planets were switched. I hate to say it, but unless our greatest minds are wrong, we are on the Talon. Or at least where the corridor would have been on the Talon."
"I don't think that's...our Talon. It's been here awhile, maybe we're here because it's another universe. Some place where the Talon, or some other ship, got destroyed."
"Definitely the Talon. It has to be. But as bad as that sounds... its actually a good thing. It means we have a place to go back to." he said, turning behind him towards the pond. "Which means your quarters were right there." he said, turning back. "This might have been one of the corridors.
"You're meant to be a planetary scientist, Cadet Tekison, is there anything you can tell us about where we are?"
"Perhaps being in the open isn't the wisest idea,"
He glanced at the both of them, finally being completely barefoot. Mandy had a point, but there were no birds, no insect sounds. Nothing. While possible, Nevir was also thinking this planet was without fauna.
"There is vegetation, liquid water, and breathable air. Either Class L or M. We have a parent star, looks like a single star system." he looked up at the star, shielding his eyes while he tried to gauge the kind of star.
"It's not too hot, I would even say its generally cooler, like during a vernal period. Star seems smaller than Bajor or Earth. We're probably at the far end of the habitable zone. Blue skies, so we have a thick atmosphere, and different cloud types of ice and water. It's hard to be sure from ground level, but it does look like they have a weather system here. Which means this world has at least 40-60 percent water."
"The only unknown between L and M is the absence of fauna. I don't hear any calls, insect or otherwise, but I also don't know if we want to find out the hard way."
