"36.... 37... 38...."
The Caitian muttered to herself as she counted each section of the Jefferies tube, trying to get to where she was supposed to go. The kind of grunt work that most officers seemed to hate, she was more than happy to do; mostly because it involved going into the bowels of the warp reactor.
After doing some typical maintenance, it was then her job to check her work and make sure that the warp core was within normal parameters. A task that even she found difficult sometimes, since a small change can cause big consequences. But still, she was doing it, and to her relief, the core was at optimum power.
Now was the part where she had to find her way out. It was way too easy to get lost in the tubes, especially when you've only seen schematics and have no idea what the area looks like from within. More than once she came to a dead-end, and more than once she found herself in a loop. But finally, she heard movement outside, and saw a light... at the end of the tunnel.
With relief, S'rah finally climbed out and dusted herself off before closing the match. She pulled out the PADD that she was using, and went to one of the engineering stations to put in her data and confirm that the maintenance was done.
So far the Chief Engineer was... interesting. She hadn't been able to speak much with him, but he was the chief engineer of a highly advanced starship. S'rah should be so lucky...
She did a quick look around, but no sign of him yet. Sigh, she continued to put in information, so that her trainers can check on it and her.
