"But it did have something to do with Tahp. Every single action I took from the moment we left that horrible place was a desperate and stupid attempt to make up for what I did to you."
She tilted her head, confused. "But you almost started a war," she whispered, but doubted he heard her as he was adamant in his explanation to his instructor.
"But you weren't there with him, Commander. You didn't see the look on his face, the tone of his voice, the choice of words he used. He challenged me to decide how important my career was. and as much as I blamed him for it.. he was right."
At least he was acknowledging his part in what had happened instead of shooting blame, somewhat. Tahp knew there was different levels of hurt, that she should not in any way think of hers as greater than anyone else's, but sometimes it was very hard.
"We just need Bandon and Heatherton and we'll have the science department in here."
He was obviously over-emotional and thus forgot all the others.
"Again, do not look for conspiracies where there are none. Think before you speak, Cadet."
Tahp's eyes were as big as saucers at the Tekison reprimand. She wanted to protest, but knew when to keep her lips firmly pressed together. Taking another step away from the chaos, she overheard a comment made by the Romulan.
"Whatever is happening, trust or not, this is a temporary solution? How long do you think they can keep us in here... and everything out?"
"Out," Tahp squeaked out. "Out?!" She glanced around quickly, her hands flitting around her body in indecision as to their placement. "What are they keeping out?!" There it was again. Panic.
