"After the past two days, I almost wish I had the excuse of not being from this universe,"
Nevir's eyes dropped. Not knowing about what she went through the last couple of days, he took it from his own standpoint. Surely there were some humans who were quite affected by the sudden change in events.
"Mandy... none of this is your fault. There was nothing you could have done..." he said, when the other two showed up. Nevir had been so caught off guard that all he could say was what, while Mandy showed why she had not been demoted by answering appropriately.
"Yes sir,"
Before he could respond, however, the other person spoke... the civilian bar tender. "Nice to meet you both, I'm Isaac. Cadet... Tekison is it? We're planning a get-together of sorts here in the Eagles' Nest, sort of a way to lift spirits after the events of the past day, and give others a chance to share their thoughts on what happened instead of it being pent up inside. We were wondering if you would be willing to speak, briefly, and offer a, uh, a call for unity to the rest of the crew. Crewman Vrehu recommended you for the job, though if you don't want to we'll go elsewhere."
Nevir's eyes were focused on Mandy as a source of comfort... otherwise, he were honestly rendered speechless. They wanted HIM to speak? For UNITY? Mr. Demotion himself? At the mention of Coardi, he peered over their shoulders at her talking to the Captain. Was this a joke? Or a tease? Or did Coardi really think that he could speak and have others listen? He glanced back to Mandy for guidance, but he would have to speak eventually.
"Um.. me? Why me? I'm not exactly a favorite among the crew. Or the Captain."
