The morgue was a place Eden had been familiar with, although not as familiar as Tahp had been.
Or Haywood. Or Robin.
Neither of which could be blamed for keeping the secret as it was meant to be secret after-all.
Bandon couldn't be discounted, either, of course. To his credit, he was an excellent keeper of secrets.
Not being the first to know didn't hurt Eden's feelings, not even a little. Everyone had to have a place to themselves; being the only girl in a pack of boys gave her an education in understanding that.
Before Tahp revealed the secret in total, Eden warned her to stay back. "Bandon's in big trouble and he knows it which makes him more dangerous."
It felt terrible telling her what to do, it seemed like that's what everyone did, but this wasn't about being her friend, or having rank, it was about being a security officer and keeping people, Tahp, safe.
The secret door pushed in before sliding to the side. Immediately humidity struck the woman. Inside was as green as Talladega in summer with vines crawling all over the bulkheads bursting with color with flowers she'd never seen before. It was beautiful but Eden couldn't see it, her eyes were busy trying to find the lump that was Bandon.
Eden went inside with her phaser drawn.
"Get up Bandon," Eden ordered, finding him in the small space.
"We're not on a first name basis anymore," he asked tauntingly as he obeyed, slowly, calculating.
"Got a lot of time to talk about that later, just get your hands behind your head and thread your fingers."
"Must have been hard arresting Hunter, too. Oh, wait. You helped your boyfriend instead." Even though he was looking the other way, his sneer was crystal clear.
For now, his words were water off a duck's back.
"Just do it, Bandon."
He started to but then, when Eden had put her phaser away to arrest him, he decided to weaponize science in the most basic form. He had found a big hard rock and flung it at Eden.
It pounded on her arm hard, though maybe not as hard as the savage beating Victor had given the punching bag.
With greater force being excusable, Eden went in for Bandon and took him down to the ground where she could exert the most dominance. It wasn't very hard but the scientist wasn't making it easy for her either.
"This is almost exactly how I imagined us, Eden," he taunted through groans. "Just missing my desk and- ugh!"
Cuffed, Eden lifted Bandon to his feet.
"Too bad, huh," Eden quipped as she took her prize.
What would happen next would likely be a shock to all.
End: Eden
