Eden hadn’t been one to glorify busy, although she always seemed to make herself that way between working and socializing. After throwing Bandon into his cozy new cell and the two rapid alert changes she was in her prime- eyeball deep in things to do. Honest truth was there was nowhere else she’d rather be than right there right now, even as the red lights burned in the dark corridors.
Jenison was a broken link in the chain of the security department. Her absence, if it could be called that since her location was known, created a splintering in the pipeline of information. The distribution was hiccuping and added an extra step for all of the security officers on board. Despite this, the teams’ training prevented any severe problems, each person working their strengths in a time of need.
“ ‘Scuse me,” Eden breathed out as she rounded the corner and nearly into another body as she neared the doors to the main computer cores. Sharing passwords was one thing, having an entire computer database downloaded by an unknown and seemingly violent people was another thing. Now that was a dog that sure didn’t hunt.
Following every security protocol she knew, and getting crafty with a few others, Eden tried her best to do her job. Usually people associated that with her handing out hugs to people, or firing a phaser rifle at other people, but right now it was the protection of Starfleet assets.
Looking up at a familiar face that had joined her, Eden breathed out the bad news. “It’s too late. They got it all.” Her bottom jaw trembled closed as worry trembled through her like a quick shock wave.
