Sitting on the sofa in her quarters, Kary's legs were tucked up under her as she sipped from her mug. Her red dress was back where it belonged, in her closet, and she was dressed instead in comfortable pants and a pull-over top.
The coffee she drank had helped clear her head a bit from the effects of any drink she had consumed at Quarks. She realized now that her actions could have easily been interpreted by Renh as a superior making advances, harassment. Sure, he'd shown interest as well, but she'd made the move. Frowning into her cup, she shook her head. She hadn't gotten herself involved in a situation like that in a long time. She would talk to him about what happened and hope that she hadn't crossed the line.
Sighing, she put her mug down on the small table and stood from the couch. Nothing more she could do about what happened in Quarks at the moment. Instead she moved over to her desk and pulled up the file on Hannah. Her eyes rested for a moment on the little charm she'd placed on the corner of her desk. Christof hadn't been on the ship when she'd returned. She was curious about the significance of the item. She'd scanned it with her tricorder just to make sure it wasn't something it didn't appear to be. But it checked out as nothing more than a little metallic charm.
Pushing the charm aside, she read over Hannah's file, she felt a wave of sadness at the thought that one so young had lost her life over this situation. Kary bowed her head and after offering a few additional prayers to the Prophets she got to work completing all the necessary paperwork related to Hannah's death. It was one of the worst parts of her job.
