Character's Name: Georgia Button
Age: 35
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Physical Profile (height, build, weight, hair colour, eye colour, skin tone, race, etc.): Brown hair, curly and long, spends most of its time falling in an unruly manner around her face.
Height: 5' 4"
Weight 115lbs
Birthplace: Earth, Greece
Preferred rank: Lieutenant J.G.
Department: Operations
Awards and Honors
Personality: Georgia is quiet, but not shy; friendly, but not particularly outgoing. She likes to be able to predict how a social interaction will go, which often means she spends a lot of time watching people before she'll actually go and talk to them.
Once you get past her initial wariness, however, you'll find Georgia to be a pleasant, easy-going sort. She's a bit of a nerd, and loves to study and read. She has a slightly wacky sense of humour and loves to laugh.
Her colleagues find her easy to get on with and her superior officers have always been pleased with her hard work. Georgia enjoys her job, and works hard because of it.
Background and History: Georgia was born in Greece, but she's not particularly Greek; her mother was born in Italy and her father was born at a research station in Antarctica. Her family was on holiday when she was born, and her mother went into labour early. Returning home, Georgia was brought up on the island of Jersey.
By the time Georgia reached the age of 16, she knew that she wanted to enter Starfleet, like her aunt (her mother's sister). Her parents were proud she'd made such a good career choice, and encouraged her to follow her dream.
Georgia always loved computers, and at the Academy she was able to follow her interest into a deep study of them. She showed particular aptitude for environmental systems, and followed it through so that she graduated from the Operations stream, majoring in computer engineering and environmental systems.
From her graduation to her current posting she has served on four different ships, and been promoted once, from ensign to Lieutenant j.g. about five years ago. She knows that she could be a Lieutenant by now, but she is happy where she is; she'd rather be working on the ship's systems than running a department any day, and she worries that if she got promoted again she might be asked to.
She was happy to be assigned to the Peregrin, as she's always found the bioneural circuitry of the Intrepid class systems to be utterly fascinating.

Georgia was swinging.
Stood on the wooden plank, the coarse ropes one in either hand, she enjoyed the feeling of going up and down, back and forth. From her moving vantage point, she could see all the way down the valley and across the hills, out across the cliffs to the sea, where the waves rolled and hit the rocks.
She smiled to herself. Despite the fact that this was a holodeck simulation and she knew that none of it was real, still she enjoyed the breeze on her face, the freshness of the air.
The wide open spaces here were so different to the small ship she was headed for. She'd spent the last two years on a Galaxy class ship, and she knew that the Intrepid was going to feel very small in comparison.
But it will be an adventure.
She smiled to herself as she hopped off the swing onto the floor.
"Computer, end program."
The holodeck illusion dissolved around her, turning to the standard black and yellow grid.
"Come on, Georgie. Time to go pack." She grinned to herself, and left for her quarters.
