Christof's reaction was not at all what Kary had expected.
"Did she look well? Did she say anything else?"
Kary opened her mouth to respond but found herself unable to as Christof jumped up, started pacing and immediately called in a distress call to DS9. Kary's brows furrowed in confusion. How in the world did he know all this? And his description of the person she'd met was nearly accurate. What was going on here?
As Christof finished his communication with the station, a man approached, placing two dishes on the table with a friendly smile and a nod. Kary returned the gesture, though only half-heartedly as she found herself still distracted by Christof's actions.
Then, he turned. She could see the look in his eyes that bespoke something much deeper happening.
"She is my daughter."
Her eyes opened and Kary found herself stunned. The girl, no the young woman, she had met was Christof's daughter.
"Your daughter?" She asked a bit flabbergasted. "Why didn't she want to see you then? When I told her you were on the station she bolted. Why is she in trouble? I don't understand what's going on." Kary's lips pursed into a frown. If the young woman she had met was in trouble...what kind of trouble? Why had she run off from Quarks? Once again that strange mothering instinct Kary had always had rose to the top. Her desire to help and protect those under her care. The woman she had met was not in anyway under her care, but knowing she was Christof's daughter....Kary felt the same pull.
"Should we go look for her? I'll help you find her."
