Luis was using a bone-knitting laser to repair a shattered humerus on a female's arm when he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Hello, my name is Lieutenant Luminareth Starla, I am the new Assistant Counselor. I also have training in first aid, both basic and some advanced. I'd love to assist you in any way that I can. Just tell me what you need me to do."
Looking up into the woman's face he could see that she was a Vulcan, at least part of her was. His experience with Vulcan's had always been a positive one. They were, for the most part, reliable and sensible, that is when they weren't being condescending or arrogant.
"Always glad to have all the help that we can get," he nodded to her. "I'm Dr. Luis Diego. Ah ...," looking around he realized that most of the seriously injured had been taken are of, which was a good thing. "Here, use this dermal regenerator on that burned leg over there," he pointed to a patient at the next biobed.
Returning to the treatment he looked over at the Lieutenant. "So, you're the new assistant counselor? Must be an interesting job. I might make an appointment with you one day when things get back to normal. That is, if we ever get back to normal. I still haven't heard what happened. You don't by any chance heard anything, have you? " he asked her. "Sounded like we hit a truck," he chuckled. "Was it a delivery truck? Nah, sounded more like a semi-truck. Loaded with lead weights," he laughed. "Or maybe a car carrier. I once saw a photograph of one. With all the metallic sounds it could pretty much have been one of those," he was rambling. "Hmmm, I wonder what kind of cars it was carrying?"
