“It looks like you have everything under control; I heard a lot of commotion over here.”
Luis looked at Keith. He was grateful there were other doctors working as hard as he was., although Keith was more experienced on a star ship, he was learning fast.
"Yeah, the Andorian that was brought in had an injured antennae but I was able to use a suture and a regenerator to make sure he doesn't loose it. But the song was really nice. And she's attractive, don't you think?" he asked Keith motioning towards Luminareth.
Luis liked women but he was painfully shy and awkward with them, especially if they were in a leadership position. Luminareth was, at the moment, in a subservient position in that she had been helping him. If she became aggressive or too forward he'd run like a spooked deer.
In the type of society Luis was brought up in there were usually two types of males; the hardcore type who pushed others around in order to control those he considered beneath him. They usually portrayed themselves as bad boys and many were dangerous. Or they were quiet, gentle and reliable; the type who were the back bone of society. Luis was the second type.
It wasn't that he couldn't be engaging, kind or gracious. It’s just that it usually took longer to get to know him before he would allow anyone close.
"She was telling me that we basically ended up in some kind of star ship junkyard. My father used to talk about a junkyard in his neighborhood when he was growing up. He said there were these creepy looking guys that ran it and had these vicious guard dogs that chewed up trespassers," he shivered. "Sounds incredibly unpleasant."
