Eavesdropping wasn't polite, but Grace was admittedly guilty of trying to listen in on the exchange from the pair of Lieutenants nearby. It was also rather difficult to pretend that you weren't looking when you really were. But again, she didn't want to be caught staring. This was probably a good reason why Grace hadn't gone into Intelligence. The art of acquiring information covertly and inconspicuously seemed to be completely lost on her.
Nevertheless, it seemed the young man, wearing command colors, which hinted that he was probably a pilot began to apologize for trying to 'pick her up' for lack of a better word. He was even willing to step aside if she was interested in the lone stranger at the other end of the bar. It was corny and kind of cute. Grace coudln't help but think that he was probably trying a bit too hard. She then looked at the woman... wearing blue. Grace figured that she was probably a science officer of some sort. She could also see why the woman had captured the other Lieutenant's attention. She was quite attractive, and probably could have her pick of the litter in terms of company in the bar.
Grace looked away, feeling she had been watching for too long. Her eyes fell on the blonde beside her. She offered her a tiny smile, not sure if the woman was interested in conversation. Thus, Grace's eyes continued to move around the room, falling on the ensign sitting alone at a table and reading a PADD. She began to wonder if he, or any of the other people there were new transfers to the Talon as well. She turned back around to see the server had brought her Raktajino. She smiled as he sat it down in front of her, and turned to leave.
Grace finally looked down to examine her beverage and the smile faded slightly. Inside the Raktajino were cubes, but not ice cubes. They seemed to be tiny gelatin cubes which did have whipped cream on them. And the heat from the Raktajino itself seemed to be causing the gelatin to melt. It was beginning to make a rather unappetizing mess, but Grace loved many different kinds of alien cuisine: Bajoran Hasperat, Jumbo Romulan Mollusks and even Klingon Gagh. In Grace's opinion, it was pretty close to Sushi... just as slimy, but more wiggly. Thus, she decided to give the drink a try rather than complain about it.
Her eyes turned back to the ensign, wanting to make sure that he hadn't left as she decided to start with him in inquiring if he was going to be her shipmate. Focusing in his direction had been the mistake as she accidentally toppled her drink in the direction of the blonde woman that had been sitting beside her. "Oh no!" Grace exclaimed turning her attention back to the spill, hoping it hadn't gotten on the woman. "I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry!" She looked in the direction of the server. "Can I get a towel, please?" Her attention the reverted to the woman once more. "I'm such a klutz. It didn't get on you did it?"
