Sin watched as Kai attempted to flag down the bartender to discover what it was that made up the strange beverage that had been in front of her. The bartender looked at the drink and shrugged before dumping the contents of the glass into the sink.
Sin could not help but smirk. That was part of her point: if the staff didn’t recognize what it was, why would any individual with a modicum of intelligence subject themselves to the creative mixology of a random bartender. Well, perhaps that was a bit harsh… then again why did she care?
With a little shrug she looked over at the man who’d yet to chime in – the tall drink of water that Kai had pointed out earlier. Sin gave him the once over in a very obvious way to grab his attention then glanced over to Kai. She looked him head to toe as if he were one of her science projects. Her face contorted as if she were considering all the factors and about to give a hypothesis. “Helmsmen,” she stated and looked at him for an answer. All the pieces fit; shameless, outlandish attempts at humor, total lack of propriety and unusually good-looking.
Around that time the bartender returned with her order and several glasses. Sin grabbed the bottle and began to pour and divide the drinks between the three of them: one for Mr. Silent, one for Mr. Helmsmen and the last for herself. She took up her glass and raised it in preparation for a toast. Once everyone caught on to that idea she began.
“There are good ships, and wood ships, and starships,
Ships that sail the stars and ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships are friendships, and may they always be.”
