"Aww, I love children. It looks like Commander Tyne's child will have a little playmate soon."
Kinin wasn't so sure how she felt about that. Klingon children could be rough and grew quicker than human children. All she needed was for Commander Tyne to be knocking on their door with a complaint. Of course, Dorian was Captain, so it wasn't as if Tyne could intimidate the man like he could with lower ranking officers who had unruly children. She looked down at her abdomen. "It is too bad he never will have had the chance to play with his brother," she said.
She shook her head, then turned her attention back to Jed. "Short hair on a Klingon is not masculine." Her hand flew to her mouth and her eyes widened. "Do not dare tell Dorian I said that!" She pointed a finger at both Keira and Jed for emphasis.
"Well, unless there happen to be any Klingon fancy dress parties in the future, it's staying this length."
"That is too bad," she replied. She winked at Keira. "You missed seeing Commander Tyne come back from a mission with long hair and a beard." Though she loved Dorian with a passion, she was still entitled to look. And dream.
The growling of her stomach brought her out of that thought in a hurry and she laughed. The rumblings of a Klingon stomach were not subtle. "What is Anza," she asked. "Tiria would kill me if I ate any more gagh, and Sig keeps forcing me to eat fruits and vegetables." The doctor/chef pair were a formidable combination and having one in charge of her health and the other as her best friend, Kinin was doomed to eat healthy during her pregnancy. She had noticed, though, that Sig had lost a little bit of weight since meeting Tiria, so at least some of her own suffering had been experienced by the CMO.
