Keira stood behind the counter of the bar and went to work with the items in front her. She filled a silver shaker with ice, then poured two ounces of liquid from the first bottle in after it. Then she poured one ounce of liquid from bottle number two, followed by another ounce from bottle number three. She sealed the shaker with the top and gave it a few shakes. When she was finished she poured the contents of the shaker, into an elaborate looking martini glass. The liquid was now a beautiful shade of emerald green. Then she pulled out a small cutting board and cut out a slice of a green apple found typically on Earth, and topped the drink with it as a garnish.
"And now for the taste test," she thought to herself as she lifted the glass to her lips and took a sip. She made a small grimace when she tasted it. Many swore that synthetic alcohol, or synthehol, tasted just like the real thing without all the inebriating side effects or hangovers afterwards. They also claim that only a very few would ever be able to taste the difference between real and synthetic or replicated foods. Keira was one of those few. Other than that it was a perfectly crafted Appletini. She debated making it the featured drink of the week, as she tried to do with at least one from almost every culture in the Federation of Planets. However, after the last debacle over the Risian Mai Tais, something told her most of the male officers would prefer something that tasted a little less like fruit and a little more like something you could clean a combustion engine with. Though rumor has it some champagne might be called for in celebration of a "new member of the crew".
She sighed to herself, restocked the bottles and brought the glass and fruit to the recycler before making the rounds and refreshing drinks. Though she didn't show any outward appearance of it, she was a little down due to the unrewarding efforts she had made at their last destination on Deep Space 9. Though she had restocked, and managed to get some shopping in, her main goal was to find as much information she could about the possible whereabouts of any of her people. She spoke to the station's Constable and head of security, and while they couldn't give her any details the only thing they could tell her was that there hadn't been any known El-Aurians on DS9 in the last 38 years. She knew they were out there, and in a way she could feel it, but they were good at traveling and even better at not being found when they didn't want to be.
She looked up from her cleaning the counter to gaze out at the panoramic view of space the Eagle's Nest had. She watched as tiny distant stars cascaded and flew by the window and couldn't help thinking that any one of those countless celestial bodies could contain a star system with a planet one of her people could be living on. The sheer vastness of her own personal journey was a little depressing but the best thing to do on any journey was to keep moving. So until she did find someone or hear anything, she'd be sticking with the Talon. She found out through the Chief of Flight Operations that their next stop was Breas, though he wouldn't go into details of their mission there she did know that the planet was in some distress and that the Federation was called to help out. Any planet under distress was a cause of concern for her and she hoped the Federation could help, in the meantime she'd keep an ear out for anything she could learn or possible help out with.
