"Good. Keep it that way, Kinin. Your son needs his mother."
That was why Kinin detested Cardassians. One moment they were spitting venom, the next they were inviting you over for tea. Duplicity was a coward's lifestyle. Before she could reply, though, Stetson returned with more information. She looked over the data quickly before he turned and displayed it for Dakbar to see. So, Rychel had tried to commit suicide. The very action repulsed Kinin. Though many of her kind resorted to a ritual suicide on occasion, she felt it pathetic. Life was about besting a challenge, not letting the challenge beat you.
"No foul play? How then-"
Dakbar's expressions were all over the map and Kinin knew that he would eventually realize she had tried to trick him into thinking Rychel already dead. Right now, though, he was still reeling from the current news, and Stetson's statement about it all being the prisoner's fault.
"No! She was...IS stronger than that!"
"Obviously not," Kinin muttered.
"Let's go, we're done here, at least for now."
"Yes, Sir," she replied. As the field sprang back to life, cutting Dakbar off from the rest of the room, Haywood held up his hand to the pair. "Message from the Bridge. The Y'angdar are in the Cargo Bay."
Kinin went over in her mind the list of officers assisting with Rychel's investigation before tapping her badge. "Lieutenant Alexander to Ensign Diran. Report to the Cargo Bay immediately. First Contact protocol." Before following Stetson, she glanced at Haywood. "Let us know if his status changes," she said to the man.
