"I will have a nurse tend to you in a few moments, if you'll have a seat on one of the biobeds,"
"Thank you," Xeira said with a smile. She picked a biobed that was slightly away from where their other patients were in order to afford them a bit more privacy, and leaned against it. She looked around curiously, getting a feel for the ship and its crew.
She watched with some amount of amusement as Jacoby endeavored to remove himself from the sickbay. She had to cover her mouth as Luis lead him back to a biobed, because she didn't want him to know that she was laughing at his predicament. Typical man, trying to get out of the sickbay as quickly as possible, without thinking about the potential risks.
From where she sat, she could only hear parts of what was being said, as other conversations were continuing as well. She wished she hadn't insisted on sitting so far away from the action. She would need to make connections quickly so she could catch up with the gossip.
"Ensign Eli?"
"Hi!" Xeira said brightly, but after a slight delay. It still felt weird to her that her name was now Eli. She giggled slightly, embarassed. "Sorry, both Ensign and Eli are new names to me, sometimes I forget who I am." She couldn't imagine how other Trill dealt with having so many memories. Maybe it was a good thing she'd gotten a fresh symbiont.
"Why don't you have a seat up here, and we'll get started. It shouldn't take too long."
"Sure thing," she said, obeying the request. Her eyes still drifted over to where Luis and Jacoby were. "Looks like sickbay is the place to be right now. And here I was hoping that since nothing had blown up recently that it would be a good time to get cleared for duty!"
