Although he would much rather be resting in his quarters right now, Diran had found himself instead being kept in Sickbay. The events of the previous day were now a haze, and he had yet to see a casualty list of the lives that were lost, but just what more could he have done? Even if he had been uninjured, circumstances meant that he would have wound up in Sickbay anyway, along with Haywood and the other evacuees. He had done his duty to the best of his ability, despite his injury. He had even been able to save Counsellor Loch from becoming another faceless name on the casualty list that he should perhaps take a look at. Then again, it would only serve to remind just how many had been failed, even though there was little more that could have been done to help them. He had done his best, and for at least one person that had been good enough.
The ship too had taken extensive damage, although the full extent was for engineering to worry about. Each and every one of them had proved themselves time and time again as more than capable of keeping the ship together, and he was confident that the Talon would be up and running again in no time! As for him though, that depended on the medical team.
Having reached Sickbay, the adrenaline that had kept him going until then seemed to suddenly wear off and he had fallen most unceremoniously to the floor. Although he hadn't lost consciousness again, he supposed once was enough, they had insisted on keeping in for observation. That was despite his protests that there were more pressing matters for them to attend to. The cut on his head had been healed, and scans had also revealed that there was nothing too serious to worry about, but they had informed him that head injuries were a tricky thing. Trouble was, he was getting restless and just wanted to move on and see what he could do to help out. Okay, so he was technically on leave, but still...
Sighing loudly, Diran pulled himself into a seated position and let his legs dangle over the side of the biobed, trying to ignore the wave of nausea as he did so. He still had a headache too, although it wasn't quite like it had been. The dizziness had worn off too, at least for now, but that might change when he next stood up. That would be just his luck. Especially seeing as for some reason his symptoms had been a little worse since the adrenaline had worn off. Still, that was yesterday and today was another day. Besides, there were more to worry about than him, so all he really wanted to do was return to duty ASAP. He had a feeling that wasn't going to happen.
