The woman in charge of Liz watched the officer carefully. This was where it could get interesting and the part of this investigation where they usually had the most results. Behind Liz, a security officer watched her readings on the tricorder and noted an increase of blood pressure, though it was not out of the normal range for a frustrated Klingon. After a time, the images ceased and the woman turned off the device. A PADD was handed to Liz. "Please read aloud the phrase on the screen," she said as she hurriedly returned to her position many steps away.

"I also know that even Admirals have rules and regulations to follow, and part of that is how to treat lower officers, and proper procedures in regards to questioning and judicial review."
The officer in front of Tek ceased the playback of the sounds. "Are you questioning the Admiral's methods," he asked. Tekison glanced towards the Admiral and Phillips met his eyes before continuing his conversation with Haywood. Tek's officer shook his head and began the set of images, only to have Tek continue his verbal diarrhea.
"You must have something against scientists... another stream of no patterns?"
"I assure you, we have no such-"
"You know, if you are trying to imitate some sort of alien interrogation, I can play along. Tekison Nevir, Lieuten- Tekison Nevir, Ensign, Science Officer, USS Talon, Service Number BR-413-986."
Behind him, Phillips got up from his chair and entered Tek's cell. "Do you think this is a game, Ensign," he asked. "For your information, the security of the Fleet is at stake, so I suggest you cease this external dialog and do as you are instructed unless you want to spend the rest of your tenuous career in a real cell." He glanced at the officer nearby. "Proceed." The officer handed Tek a PADD. "Please read aloud the phrase on the screen."

"This isn't one of those weird subliminal things, is it?"
Cobus' officer watched the Trill try to figure things out. Rok's eyes glazed over and he remained unblinking, a sign that his thoughts were miles away. The officer cleared his throat.
"Okay, that's just a possum."
It took all sorts of control from the guard not to look at the screen to confirm the statement and he became hyper alert. That sort of diversionary tactic was extremely suspect.
"Seated my ass."
The two guards who had been behind him were now suddenly facing the Chief Engineer as Cobus swung his chair around. Both their hands flew to their weapons. "Admiral," one of them called out. Phillips, having just left Tek's cell, was immediately in the room. "Commander," he said to Cobus. "I believe you are facing the wrong way. Unless you have an eye in the back of your head that isn't in our records, I suggest you turn back around." He looked over at the interrogator. "How far did he get?"
"It looped," he said.
"Fine, continue."
A PADD was placed in Cobus' lap. "Please read aloud the phrase on the screen."

Already, one of the guards behind Robin had his hand on his weapon, a decision promulgated by a sudden, dramatic rise in heart rate, neural activity, and blood pressure in the pilot.
“Stop!”
Phillips heard the shout and came running just in time to see Robin pick up the device and hurl it out of the cell, barely missing the Admiral. As Robin sat down on the bench, the three guards rushed him, one holding a phaser at him while the other two, one on each side, grabbed his arms.
"Damnit," Phillips cursed. "Why did it have to be him?" He rushed forward, elbowing the weapon wielding officer slightly to the side, before taking a knee on the floor in front of the distraught officer. "Give me the PADD," he said. One was thrust in his hand and he tapped on it briefly before holding it directly in front of Robin's face. A single image from the slideshow was displayed, that of a geometric design. "Look at it," he said to the man. "Look at it!!"

(The phrase is: "Not necessity, not desire - no, the love of power is the demon of men. Let them have everything - health, food, a place to live, entertainment - they are and remain unhappy and low-spirited: for the demon waits and waits and will be satisfied," and is a quote by Nietzsche)
