"Always."
There was no hesitation as Cobus answered. Grace certainly couldn't find a reason to doubt the Trill's advice. Besides, he had more life experience that anyone she knew. He had several lifetimes of experience in fact. Surely, he knew what he was talking about. And the more she thought about it, this wasn't a mistake that she wanted to make.
Her inner musings were interrupted by the sight of Cobus spitting out some berries he'd just eaten. She looked into the water and then back at the Engineer, slightly surprised.
"I forgot I don't like those. But I don't regret trying them."
Grace smiled slightly at his proclamation. She could see the connection that he was making. She didn't know what would happen, but the fact that she tried it would give her some sense of certainty and end this torment of dreading the unknown. Of course, for all the confidence she was gaining in her next course of action, she had no idea where to begin... literally. Here she was in the caves, and there was an entire planet to be searched.
"Do you know where they are?"
Her initial response was a slow shake of the head. "I don't have any idea," said Grace. "I mean... I guess I was being a bit evasive when I decided to come here." Grace had certainly tried to limit any opportunity of crossing paths with the object of her affection. She supposed she could contact the transport to see if they could reveal his location, but if she could avoid that course of action she would.
"I bet I could find them."
And just like that, hope was renewed. "Can you really?" she asked, but she felt she knew the answer already. Cobus Rok had quite the reputation for performing the impossible. So, finding a single person on Risa likely fell well within his skill set. Her mind turned to a few other questions: What would she say? What should she wear? Cobus likely had an opinion to those questions as well, but Grace assumed she needed to assume some responsibility.
"Thank you... so much," Grace said graciously. She opted not to call him 'sir' seeing as he seemed to prefer something a bit more informal... at least in this setting. Grace exhaled as she continued to smile. "I guess all that's left now is to find him so that we can talk. Finally... finally, Kealan and I will have a chance to clear the air."
