"He seems to be confused, until I can dismiss a multitude of illnesses I reserve my judgement however," his thin lips flattened into a line for a moment, "he is clearly prone to violence."
That man would try to find a way to disagree with him if he said the sun was bright. He supposed it was the least of his worries for the moment. At least he wasn’t alone in troubles. Athena got her own chastising from the good doctor.
Shortly thereafter, they started into their theory of alternate realities.
"It could."
Jeven’s brow went up. A simple agreement without terms? Maybe this was an alternate reality.
"We should be able to come up with something that will provide results."
“Excellent.”
"Right now all we have from Mister Jeven is the scan from Metters, your current file on record, and I will have to bring up what we have on Dr. Ericson's patient from the incident in the security office. If Lieutenant T'Rai can get the consent required for further testing and questioning we may be able to make some comparisons. From there we can continue."
He appreciated Bernard’s diligence to protocol, and normally, he agree, but given the circumstances, he wondered if they would be able to adhere to those protocols fully. Some invasion of privacy could be warranted for the sake of the crew and ship security. For now, he would wait to see how successful T’Rai was.
"I hear no echo," she replied. "And I suspect my hearing is more acute than yours."
He huffed notably. “Some things change. Others stay the same.”
"If you are referring to your presence on the biobed, it is a result of your attack on the crew. However..."
Jeven watched as T’Rai joined him inside the forcefield. He had to admit his captors weren’t dumb. They knew their security precautions.
"I believe you are referring to the larger issue. There is a theory," she replied. "It will be helpful to all, yourself included, if you will let me proceed with a scan or two."
He was silent for a moment while he examined the Vulcan. He found her question both confusing and surprising. “And if I refuse…?”
"It appears that our patient's blood pressure is on the rise."
“My guess is T’Rai is not succeeding.” At least not yet.
"Anything you are able to give us from your reports may be helpful so feel free to," Bernard paused as he looked down at his freshly stained uniform with a look of disappointment on his face, "interject, Commander."
“I will.”
“If...he is from an alternate reality, could there be others on board? I mean it's been seven days since she appeared, it seems a bit of a long time for something like this to happen and only one other person to have appeared.”
“Unfortunately, yes,” Jeven replied. “But we need to ascertain if that is the case before we move forward with that possibility. If the Lieutenant is unable to gain his consent, we may have proceed without it. We need to know what is happening and why.”
