A light sigh, she looked at what was to become her store and let her hands dangle by her side. This was going to be more challenging than she thought. The station as a whole was kinda...a shambles, okay that might have been over kill but it was like walking in to a new mall the day before opening. You could see everything and what it was meant to be but everyone was still running around like a headless chicken trying to get it all set up. This store was either going to make it or it was going to be an epic failure and she couldn't help but think it might be the latter. If this was her fathers idea of making things hard for her he was certainly doing that! Why couldn't he just let her get a stall or something at a NYC market and let her go, after all that place was full of artists but no, that just wasn't good enough. The family were business people and that was what she was going to be if it killed him.
Shaking her head she looked at the boxes of merchandise that she had made that were waiting to go on shelves and displays. It was going to take forever to get this place sorted and she was the only one here...a hand ran though her dark hair as she plopped herself down on to one of the boxes as she thought about the logistics. She knew already where the little trinkets were going but they were easily breakable so they were going to have to go in last....where the paintings were going to go she didn't know. It occurred to her she could hang them up on the walls, which would really be the smart thing to do right? She just had to work out how she was going to do that, it wasn't like she was going to be able to reach up and do it she wasn't that tall after all.
Deciding that it might just be best to climb up on something she managed to find a big enough box as a substitute for a ladder and began unpacking painted canvases from another box. The first one she pulled out was a landscape, the view of NYC she got from the roof of her parents house, a city full of happy tangled lives in the city, chemical and skin strapped in to an air-conditioned ride called life. People who stood in line but complained about waiting, people running around with no time to figure anything out. Sometimes it felt like they lived in an entirely different world from Amy. Now Amy had no intention of figuring things out never mind being in a hurry about it, she wanted to watch the people run.
The city stood out against the bright red sunset sky...she had a way with bright colours but that was just her personality shining through. There was something almost strange about this girl in a bright pink and green dress standing on a box trying to hang a painting in a grey starbase. This place could do with more colour any way.
