"Sounds like quite the hefty task, having to keep this place afloat."
Siobhan nodded in agreement at Eddy's observation. As far as she was aware it wasn't all that difficult for a team of competent engineers to keep a starbase in orbit. It was certainly a lot easier than maintaining a starship with all it's complicated parts and purposes. No, for the majority of her stay here she would have to worry to much about engines or warp drives etc. Not unless she wound up on the governors ship again anyway!
"But a woman like yourself seems more than capable. Doubt you'd have earnt the extra pip - or the posting really - if you weren't."..."I'm only an Ensign myself."
This time she smiled. It almost seemed as though he was flirting with her, but then again maybe she was imagining it. She was surprised that he wasn't a little higher in rank, given that he looked a little older than her, but there could be all sorts of reasons for that. Siobhan found it best not to question these things, especially seeing as these things didn't matter outside work.
"Well, thanks for the compliment but I'm really nothing that special. Engineering is a slow career track so I suppose I must have done something right if they gave me the extra pip. Maybe one day they might fill it in for me, you know if I'm a good girl." Despite her modest nature, it was always a possibility but her top priority for now was to give her son the best start in life she possibly could. Her career was secondary and as much as she loved Starfleet she would give it all up in a heartbeat for little Ricky if need be.
"Looking for anything in particular?"..."Because if not, I think this colour suits you."
Now if that wasn't a come on line of sorts then she didn't know what was. He was sweet, she'd give him that. Smiling, she took the blouse from him and examined it. She hadn't actually seen it on the rail but as she felt the softness of the fabric and imagined it against her skin, she considered the fact that there was a possibilty that it would indeed suit her. It wasn't the style she usually went for but that was the whole point of coming into this store in the first place. She tried it against herself before speaking.
"Hmm, maybe. It would definately be patriotic anyway but there's no harm in trying it on." She would have wagered that a human would guess straight away that she had irish roots from her accent. Despite spending a lot of time in San Francisco and space she still kept her thick irish accent.
It was then that she noticed the blonde Orion looking in their direction. She seemed intrigued by the exchange between the two for some reason, but she may as well make use of her interest as she propped the blouse in front of her again and looked right at the young woman.
"Hey there, what do you think?"
