It was the sixth program that he had been denied access to. B'ranon knew that he was supposed to be keeping his stress levels down, but this computer was surely trying his patience. "Computer, who initiated the lock-out of my holographic programs?" he asked. He waited for a reply and watched as names familiar from Sickbay littered the screen. At present, they were all marked with a deadline, but that was after his next scheduled visit to Sickbay. Clearly, they didn't want him straining himself prior to then.
"Computer, show a list of approved holographic programs for me," he asked. His eyes scanned the list, and nothing stood out as... what was the word? Fun. Along sigh left his lips. "Computer, run Game of Crowns program, second novel." There was an acknowledging chime. He stepped into the room and began to look around. He could see that he was in a castle and could hear the storm raging outside.
"Computer, fast forward to chapter 11, the Fountain of Blue Blood," B'ranon asked. There was an audible sound of disapproval.
"Unable to comply. Program currently only able to run at real time," said the computer.
A grown of frustration left B'ranon's lips. Was he this annoying to his own patients? He reached up and rubbed his forehead. "Then, what are my options presently?"
"You may attend the feast in being held in Marzak's honor, or you may discover the targ entrails currently splayed in Lady Emily's chambers," the computer replied.
"A party, or a mystery, but no actual action," B'ranon mused aloud. It was almost tempting to call for the arch and take his leave. The one thing that wasn't a mystery was that Osler-Drew and his team didn't want B'ranon to have any fun.
