The turbo lift opened on the eighth floor to a world not undifferent to the one they had just left except the damage had been cleaned up.
"Come on, Oliver," he still held his woozy friend who was having trouble hearing. He knew there were most likely three doctors working in sickbay and he would make four. A line of injured personnel lined the corridor as nurses moved up and down checking them and sending the more seriously injured in first. It was called triage.
Oliver felt heavier than he had been as he leaned against Luis. Looking over at him he saw blood trickle out of Oliver's ears as his head hung loosely. He was loosing consciousness and needed immediately medical care.
"Make a hole! Let me though! Gangway!" he called as he moved forward through the uniforms of moaning people. Finally reaching the entrance he called to a medic to help him carry his friend.
"Are there any biobeds available?" he asked Ensign Metters.
"One on the corner," Metters replied.
"Let's get him on it," he told the medic and it was done. Immediately the vitals showed up at the head of the bed.
"Computer, analysis of patient Ensign Oliver Adler," Luis told it. In doctor mode Luis was not the shy, insecure man when he was around a female he was attracted to. He had a singular goal and that was the care of his patient or patients, whichever the case may be.
"Patient has a severe concussion caused by an injury to the skull. He is semi-conscious."
"OLIVER!" Luis yelled out his name. "OLIVER! WAKE UP!" he shook his shoulder. It would be better if he would awaken. It would be better if he did.
