"let's do that again."
"I'm sure we will," Reesa said, catching herself with an only slightly belated, "Sir." Something told her that she was correct in that matter though, there would be a lot of evasive flying in her future if the Talon was going to be staying in this area of space for any substantial amount of time.
"Alright people, why don't we see if we can get back to the planet and verify the status of the away team shall we?"
"Yes, Captain," Reesa said, plotting a course back to the planet. She hoped that once they actually successfully arrived at Aesco, they could assume some semblance of an orbit without having to spend hours dodging these energy surges. The thought of spending 8 hours doing evasive maneuvers did not appeal to her.
Bringing the Talon back around, Reesa saw that the wave did appear to have mostly receded for now, although she didn't like the fact that they had no idea when the next one would come along. She was completely focused on the task at hand, and she kept her eyes on the sensors, looking for any rogue energy surges that sought to take on the Talon. She had no idea whether or not it would be safe to try and orbit with the given conditions, as doing so would make it a lot more difficult to maneuver.
Glancing at the Ops and Science stations, she asked, "Is it safe to orbit the planet?" She hoped that they had some method of predicting the phenomenon, but she figured her hope was most likely poorly placed. Her gaze settled on Dakbar for a moment, and she noticed that he seemed to be amused. She grinned widely back at him, hiding her slight bit of nervousness behind a facade of complete control.
That was, afterall, the Cardassian way.
And at least all the pressure of keeping everyone about the ship alive meant that she wasn't worrying about a certain pilot who's fate was still unknown...
