M'Khol had summoned a Security Officer to take over the security station when he dismissed Dakbar, fully intending upon taking a shower and then awaiting Chloe's arrival at his quarters. He raised an eyebrow as he saw the color of Morgan's hand, yet said nothing, because Sig was on the bridge to take care of it.
“We’ll see you at the station Captain.”
He was surprised that they were leaving for the station already, as he had assumed that they would stay in the area until they had figured out what was causing the energy waves. Then again, perhaps the science team had all the data that they needed, and they just needed time to look everything over and to gain an understanding of what was occuring.
“M’Kohl, you have the conn.
"Yes, Captain," M'Khol said, and he turned over the security station to his subordinate before taking a seat in the Captain's chair. He wasn't about to tell Dorian that it was the first time he'd officially been in charge of a vessel. His previous assignment at Deep Space 9 was not conducive for leading a vessel, that was for certain. The chair was more comfortable than he expected, and he fought an urge to settle back into it, instead sitting bolt upring. He hit a few commands on the viewer that was to his left, pulling up the chart that showed the ambient neutrino levels. Everything was calm for now.
Under Ensign Traylen's skillful command, the Talon left orbit above Aesco, and headed towards the edge of the Aescan solar system. Once they were clear of the last planet in the system, the Talon jumped to warp, back towards to station. He did the math in his head, figuring out how long it would take them to get to SGE. It had taken them nearly 13 hours at warp 9 to get to Aesco, which meant about 72 hours to get back to Etimon at warp 5.5. Hopefully, they would be three nice, relaxing days.
And by "relaxing" he meant filled with reports and training for his staff.
