Whatever Yolanda was saying about force and appendage Robin didn't hear it as the ice cold wind chose that moment to gust around his head and rendering the words mute to him. It was probably science stuff like almost everything else they had been talking about thus far, it didn't concern him, probably.
But as soon as Robin felt the cyborg yield to his pulling, he believed himself to be victorious but a half second later told him that he was very far from that. He stared in disbelief and horror and this time, there was no mistaking Yolanda's fiery words and each one felt like a strike from a Klingon pain stick, only it didn't sear flesh but his heart.
That's not... supposed to happen, right? Robin asked himself, as if he could realistically answer that but he tried to do so anyway. The scans had said they were indestructible right? How had he been able to effectively rip someone in half? Robin shivered despite the heat of embarrassment and frustration rushing through him. It was like being at the Academy or when...
"Who's that idiot running across the flight deck!?"
Idiot indeed.
"If we act immediately, do you think it's possible to salvage this unit?"
Can you? Robin wanted to urge but he said nothing as he watched Sig with anticpiation of what he might say, perhaps confirming to them that Robin had just killed a life. His eyes narrowed, this was a test yes and he knew that he had just risked much but it was the Pewdins that put these life forms in such a hospitable place and what if whoever they tested could not repair them? They were effectively dooming the lifeforms from the beginning, even before they were put here.
"Today is your lucky day, Lieutenant,"
Lucky?
"Looks like they were meant to be able to do that."
A huge sigh of relief left Robin's mouth as he tilted his head back and closed his eyes, thanking someone, something. That was until he considered the implications that Sig brought up... storage. Another chill ran up his spine. It didn't make Robin feel any better about himself but his hatred of Pewdins was growing even more rapid.
"Let's get it to the cave and we'll put it back together."
Sig issued for Robin to move the torso and Robin nodded reluctantly and refused to make eye contract with anyone, that was precisely until he did make eye contact with Yolanda immediately after. He thought about saying sorry but this was far beyond a simple apology and honestly, it shouldn't even be for her.
Hearing Diran's brief cave report, Robin nodded again and crouched down to pick up the torso. He was glad that the torso wasn't warm so that he would be spared from thinking that he was carrying only half of a living organism. Still, he knew this was something he wasn't about to forget, just like every other stupid thing he had done.
Hulking through the snow, Robin lead the way into the cave that held a bit more light than one would generally expect, probably because of all white around to aid in bouncing around whatever natural light that managed to get through the atmospheric blizzard.
With caution, Robin lowered himself before placing the torso gently onto the ground where the original rocky floor peaked through some of the snow that littered over it, reminding them that the harsh winter didn't reach everywhere. He glanced towards the deeper end of the cave where eventually all he could see was a fog of darkness and he stared until the shuffling of another cyborg part touching the rock snapped him out of his reverie.
"Are we getting the other... ones now as well?" He spoke up, against his better judgement. He would much rather just stay quiet and stick to simpler labour than anything else right now.
