"You have a child?"
Yolanda wasn't sure why that fact above any other that she had shared seemed to capture the cyborg's attention. She slowly nodded in affirmation. "I do," she added. Of course, considering how long it had been sense she'd seen David.... She took a deep breath, wondering how long politics would keep them apart. "I have a son. And so does he." Yolanda gestured towards Sig. "Two sons...." Her own experience with the Borg had tarnished her perception of cybernetic life, because it seemed odd that such facts would even remotely matter to the cyborg.
"Do you really think reviving us is going to free us. Do you really think that when this is done that we will be allowed to make allies and never kill again? We are better off deactivated, with our minds still active in that frozen wasteland, lonely even though piled together! Leave this place in peace. But do not assume you know what is best for us."
Her argument for an alliance had clearly fall on deaf ears. And she couldn't help but wonder what existence had they had before that they would rather accept something so akin to death now. Has he marched for the entrance, Yolanda held up her hand, signaling for Star to not to intercede. As soon as the opportunity granted it, she was kneeling down near Sig and Ziana. "Are you all right?"
Her eyes examined Sig. She didn't expect an audible answer. It was then that she noticed Robin rushing towards them. "Help him up." She turned her attention to Button. "Lieutenant?" she asked just to make certain. It had been obvious that Sig had taken the brunt of the force, but every away team member's safety mattered to her. She knew she wouldn't be able to bring herself to look Kealan in the eye if she'd lost any of them.
"You guys okay? What happened?"
Yolanda's brow furrowed at the question. Her eyes moved towards the entrance and she reached up and tapped her comm badge. "What happened... is that we've been played," Yolanda spat. Her frustration was more evident than she preferred it to be. Some of the cyborg's earlier words and the away team's vocal musings began to return to her immediate attention.
Cyborgs neatly stacked on a desolate planet and deactivated. It was already a foregone conclusion that they had been placed their, deliberately. In fact, stored was a better word. And the cyborg had specifically used the word: enslaved. He had said that they'd been forced to kill. And now... now, the Pewdin seemed keen to take them out of storage... and for what? A new conflict? Ethics may not have been a class that Yolanda was awake in the entire time, but she knew enough to question the Pewdin considering all of the clues.
"If you don't have any objections, Commander, I think it's time we left. You need medical attention, and the Captain needs to know what's going on here," Yolanda said. "Robin, help Sig back to the shuttle and prepare for departure. Ensign, Lieutenant... let's secure our belongings and get the hell of this ball of ice."
Yolanda continued to turn all the pieces of this proverbial puzzle in her head as she began to repack some of their things. If the cyborgs were a weapon, why send members of the Talon's crew to retrieve them? And beyond that, there was no telling what sort of sinister hoops the other teams were jumping through. "Once we're back on the shuttle, Lieutenant, I want you to search through whatever data you have, especially anything that looks like a memory file. There has to be something that can shed some light on all of this... and what these cyborgs were forced to do."
Vargas made a mental note to contact the Talon as soon as they were back on the shuttle. She was ready to let Kealan know that they were on their way home, and whatever communications blackout had been ordered by the Pewdin be damned. She wasn't going to be their bi-... errand girl anymore.
