He picked a fine day to have a shift on the bridge indeed. Of course he was completely unaware of a vast part of the crew having been detained, and too dense to realize that only humans were present on the bridge. He had managed to maintain his focus on his screen during Mitchell and Monroe's conversation. None of it made a lick of sense, but none of it had to. At least not to him.
"Damn fool. Everyone, stay sharp. And where th' hell is Mr. Hunter?!"
It was now that the entire room had his attention, and it was becoming quite obvious that Captain Monroe was the only person that had even a semblance of an idea what was going on. Much like his operations superior, his eyes started to wander from crewmember to crewmember. Sure enough, more of them seemed even more confused than he.
He watched the banter back and forth between the Captain and Lt. Commander Vargas, curious if he was always like this. Surely not, as the crew that he had gotten to know all raved madly about the Captain and the man that he was. Still he was a bit surprised by how easily the Captain seemed rattled. Of course that was an easy assessment to make when you didn't fully understand the magnitude of the situation.
"I cannot tell you. No order can countermand the one I follow."..."Then get off my Bridge."
He hadn't even realized the worse for wear Lieutenant enter the bridge until his voice rang out. His chocolate gaze shifted back and forth between the two men. As impatient as the captain had been for Lt. Hunter's arrival, it didn't seem to take long for his presence to no longer be welcomed.
When the viewscreen flickered back on, this time he watched the other Captain's cry of distress. He was still trying to process it when a thud happened right in front of him. His aux station was only across the walkway from Lt. Commander Braddocks'. Instinct kicked in and he jumped across the aisle brushing Braddocks arm as he peered over the console down at the two men. His nature said to break the two up, but when he heard the captains words, it was clear the distress on the other ship was caused by something the Lieutenant had done. He instead opted to let it play out for the moment. If things got too much more physical, he was still close enough to slip in and pull the two men apart if need be.
He could hear a notification beep, though it took him a second to diagnose it. Considering the state of the bridge, he used a very loud, attention grabbing voice that at this moment he was very proud to have equipped. "CAPTAIN."
He couldn't make out the notification from where he was, so he made the four foot trek across the aisle back to his console. "We're being scanned." His voice was still assertive, but an octive lower than before. "It's coming from the Yukon, sir."
