"Sir, the Lachlan is powering up its weapons as well,"
He looked across at his workstation to confirm that the Lachlan too had powered up his weapons. He had actually studied up on the capabilities of the Talon, but not the Lachlan or Yukon. He operated on the assumption that at they very least they were of equal ability, in which case a two on one scenario wasn't anything they wanted to attempt to deal with.
He listened through one ear at the conversation between Captains while the majority of his attention remained on the view panels infront of him. If there were two ships locked onto them with weapons ready, he was going to make sure that they didn't get a pre-emptive strike on them.
The sensors detected an energy buildup in the Lachlan's weapons array, he reached shoulder high onto the screen to raise the shields, readying himself to call out "brace for impact", but before he could do either, they had been rocked by the impact. His screen flickered and a brilliant array of sparks rained down from the ceiling. He stumbled a few steps back before regaining his footing and moving back to his station. The dimly lit station was accented by the red flashing lights and warning sirens screaming overhead. By the time that he'd gotten back to his console, Lt Cmdr Braddock already had the shields raised. He began looking at the status reports as they started coming in from various decks and departments.
"Direct hit to the port side,"
"Hull breaches on Decks four through seven. Emergency force fields and structural integrity is holding. Loss of power on Deck Eleven. Main Engineering reports no damage to engines. Injuries reporting in from several decks."
"Shields and weapons are mostly operable,"
"Shields and weapons are mostly operable,"
"Power to the port phaser banks is down. Field generators in that area are in flux."
"If they hit that area hard enough the shields may buckle."
As soon as the reports started to trickle in, he had began making sure all the emergency protocols were enacted. Forcefields were indeed holding, though power levels were flickering all over the ship. He was working on trying to stabilize the power levels at the very least to constant levels.
"Find a way to reroute power and stabilize those systems."
He heard Braddock's voice from over his shoulder, and immediately began trying to work through their problems. "Rerouting power from all Auxiliary and Tertiary systems."
Replicators, secondary systems, and even some of the minor primary systems were taken offline in order to make sure that the critical systems would continue to function. He wasn't sure exactly how long these quick fixes would patch their situation, but hopefully it would be long enough for them to at least get away and get the ship restored to fully functioning order.

"That shot came from the Lachlan!"
"Confirmed," he quickly responded before tapping onto another notification from the engineering department. "Emergency Repair teams have been dispatched to critically damaged areas."
He'd missed it among all of the chaos, but he was now starting to feel significant discomfort in his right hand. He glanced away from the console for a moment to see the black rimmed bright red tissue exposed on the back of his hand. He must have been burned by an electrical surge when his console had went into sparks. It was only a hand, nothing too serious so he did his best to ignore the pain and continue on with his duties.
