Cobus tried his best to recall anything he knew about Yatal. It wasn’t a planet they’d been to, and his usually good memory wasn’t coming up with anything. He shrugged and shook his head, wordlessly conveying that the destination meant nothing to him, however, it seemed pretty clear than it had not been their Captain’s order, or they would have set course immediately after his departure.
It didn’t even seem like the ship would make it that far considering the damage report he'd seen. There was a strained pitch to the hum of the engines that made him nervous.
A momentary breath of relief surged in his chest as he saw T’Rai respond to his crew member’s efforts to rouse her. It was a small victory on a day that seemed to be filled with defeat. Of course, keeping her awake wouldn’t keep her alive for long if they couldn’t get her to real medical care, and unfortunately is seemed unlikely that their situation would resolve any time soon, at least not in the absence of some kind of miracle. Cobus didn’t have any, not for this situation at least.
The news that Braddock was refusing orders didn't do anything to curb his suspicions that something was seriously wrong on that bridge. She was a good officer, and if she was refusing, there had to be a reason for it. Cobus couldn't help wondering if they shouldn't send someone from security to investigate.
His eyes travelled back to Tegan as Eden addressed her. Cobus had wanted her to double check Eden’s handiwork ever since she’d appeared security, but she’d been so panicked about Tahp's well being on her arrival, that he knew he’d had to let her check in on the Etimonian first. He overheard the console she was working on chide her for not providing an access code, or at least not a correct one.
“Mast,” he said in a commanding voice, knowing that if the ensign would listen to anyone besides Tahp right now, she would listen to him. “I need you to keep these forcefields up and running like our lives depend on it.” he said, getting straight to the point. Whatever she was trying to do to help them wouldn’t work if they were dead.
