Departing the Talon had been more or less routine, despite the restrictions that had been placed upon the shuttle to prevent the passengers from being influenced by the denizens of the planet below. It was a bit more work on Reesa to fly the runabout solo, but it was something that was more than within her capabilities, especially given the fact that they likely wouldn't be involved in any combat situations.
"Alright Ensign, slowly take us down towards the planet. Lieutenant Rok, keep an eye on the readouts from the planet. Perhaps as we get a bit closer, our sensors will be able to cut through whatever it is that is causing the interference."
"Aye, sir," Reesa said. "Do we want to start near the beam in point, or where the underwater generator seems to be?"
"Start near the beam in point. If we can get a transporter lock on anyone that might be our crew, beam them up here, Rok. It would be good to know just precisely what we're dealing with on the surface."
Reesa circled Salor once so they could get a good look at it before she went any lower, but other than the generator that appeared to be in the middle of the ocean, there wasn't much else of note. The Salorri seemed to have been the sort of species which had used all of it's technological advances to improve their quality of living, and to make other species less likely to want to attack them. Insofar as basic scans could show, it didn't seem like there was any global defense systems. But the scans were still quite muddled by interference.
"Shields up, Lieutenant Jenison," Tyne said, as if reading Reesa's mind.
"Going down to 9,000 feet," Reesa said. As nothing seemed to blow up around her, she took them down even further. "8,000 feet and holding."
"What are we seeing down there?" Tyne asked, wanting his crews input on the situation.
