"Well, you seem to have good control over things, but let me know if anything pops up and I'm not around..."
Grace could only smile brightly at his approval. It was certainly what she was hoping for. In fact, she always did her best to make certain that her superior officers were pleased with her performance. The infirmary seemed to be right on track for it's scheduled timeline. "Yes, sir," she said agreeing to let him know if anything comes up. "I most certainly will."
"Is there anywhere in particular you'd like me to set up, Miss, Or will the broom closet do?"
The smile over her previous approval began to fade. Her eyes widened, with just a hint of panic. Of course, she had been trained long and hard not to let panic set in. Still, she had been so intent on gloating over her own performance, she had left him standing their and hauling all of his own gear. "What? No, sir. Of course not. I...."
"Point me to the filth."
Grace turned to look at Crewman Hudson Campbell whom had turned up. Clearly, she was looking to get to her own tasks. Grace was still thrown, and a bit torn about what to do next. Should she point Crewman Campbell in the right direction, or would Dr. Black feel slighted by that? She'd already insulted the man once. There was hardly a need for a repeat performance.
"Well, I just got here, but I'm sure Miss Cunningham is more than capable of pointing you in the right direction. I'm Lieutenant Commander Zaiden Black, by the way. Pleasure to meet you."
Grace stood there a moment. Well, now it was just absolutely rude to try to usher the woman along now. Not that she was trying to usher her away. In fact, Grace held a special appreciation for Crewman Campbell. She was the unsung hero that always set things back to their natural state of comfort. As she waited patiently for the appropriate break in their exchange, she finally spoke up.
"I'm sorry, sir," said Grace apologizing. "The area for offices and rest is right around that corner. We haven't gotten the cots set up yet, but the offices for doctors are already marked." She offered a smile that still held a tinge of apology in them. Her eyes then turned to Hudson. "Um, asked everyone to place all the waste they accumulated at the rear access door. I was hoping that would make things easier for you and keep most of the area clutter free. Is that okay?" Grace wanted to be certain that Hudson approved of her methods. Otherwise, she'd personally make whatever amendments the woman wanted.
