From her new vantage point of the room reading the away team was easier. Her momma often said that grown women had sprouted eyes in the back of their head and it certainly seemed that way but it was merely an old expression thus analyzing the folks behind her was not entirely possible. Maybe such a woman needed to be married and with kids to boast of such a gift. For now she would have to go without.
Dr. Roshan was trying to take up as much space as she could as she rested her hand on her hip, a dominating expression. 'Whats she feelin' so cocky about?' That or she was feeling aroused after dealing with the Trill officer's medical situation but it was unlikely.
James was as neutral as ever, a compact package all to himself, his blue eyes scanning everyone looking for assurance. He was out of his depth but, as Eden knew personally, nothing could halt his curiosity. If they were going to spend the rest of their days in this wretched room it was a blessing that he had been trapped there too. Over the months he had become a good friend and a constant victim of playful teasing.
The young ensign's gaze shifted to her partner briefly. Evidence of an unhappy shudder remained, who could blame him after Halsey's less-than-appropriate remark, but he was present and ready. Diran was harder to decipher than the rest in heavy competition with that Stone fellow; goodness knew she had tried to gauge all of the people in her new department- now there was a challenge.
As for the man in white robes, whose calves were nicely toned as it happened, now there was an interesting combination of outward expressions. His legs are apart as though to expose himself confidently and authoritatively; I'm Lieutenant Robin Star and I'm in charge, ya'hear! was what his body tried very hard to say despite being uncomfortable with the current situation. His clasped hands partially covered the area Xeira had barfed all over and there was the sign.
As for Aevo. He was a mess, a nervous wreck, a pile of nerves, a frightened pawn in someone's scheme. It hardly took a course at the Academy to understand that. Aevo had not been very appreciative of her close proximity and escaped as soon as he could possibly manage.
"What I indicate next is only an approximation. My ship is a very small vessel. I can conduct most of my sensor sweeps from main control, which is where I was at the time. Are you not going to look at that, has it been given to the wrong individual?" Aevo had said from the console he had run off to.
Robin pressed for more answers, "Is this your approximation based on when you first saw two ships?"
Still relaxed against the empty chair, Eden observed the map and gently traced the contour of her own chin feeling the hard bone underneath soft skin. Once again they were presented with some fairly vague details. When it came to the accusation of murder every single element was important.
"Now, obviously I ain't a pilot, Lieutenant Star," the girl began as she focused on the man who had been wearing Command Red up until a few minutes ago, "but droppin' out of warp so close to another ship ain't exactly regulation, right?" It was back tracking a little but with the map up for all to see Eden felt like it was worth bringing up again. It was not as if Eden had known Captain Monroe personally or had been under his command for very long but he had not struck her as some some sort of renegade who scoffed at the rules so blatantly. If Aevo believed what he had said then he might have felt compelled to argue but as part of Monroe's crew, believing he would follow every line of the Captain's handbook felt like a very safe assumption. "I mean, the Talon ain't stopping that close unless it was thrown out, right?" Eden pushed off from the chair and crossed one arm across the bottom of her bust and used the other to point to the map that had been brought up. "Say the Talon did make a wild entrance, supposin' they had to dump the warp core for whatever reason," she shrugged expecting it was JG's turn to roll his eyes, "then I think that would be pretty obvious to any witnesses and it ain't very likely they'd be in any condition to be firin' any weapons so soon if that were the case."
"Mr. Aevo, I know it's a bother but do you think you could get any more specific about how the Talon showed up? Was the ship there in a blink of an eye? Did it melt or shimmer into view? Were there any bright shades of light nearby when you saw it? I'm just havin' a hard time accepting your first answer." Ensign Nivans' slowly spoken words could be summed up easily with a simple phrase. I ain't buyin' what he's sellin'. It was written all over her face. Perhaps not everything was a lie but it was clear that there had been some sort of persuasion going on. As her patience dwindled her accent grew stronger.
While she was already asking for further details on a previously asked question why not go for broke and repeat another? Perhaps Aevo could not name a Quantum Torpedo specifically but maybe what he saw could give a hint as to what weapons the Talon had supposedly fired. Not that Ensign Nivan's believed they had charged any weapons at all. "What about the weapons' fire? Perhaps you weren't spying on the tactical console but you saw the ship get destroyed with your own eyes. Instead of hiding behind technicality," his previous answer was obviously not good enough, "why don't you describe what you saw? What colors did you see? How did you ship react?"
The Talon had been equipped with a beautiful variety of defensive and offensive capabilities. To her, it was part of what made the Sovereign Class ship so beautiful. She was a force to be reckoned with and it was that detail in anything that got the blonde's heart fluttering.
When Robin put the device into the console it was clear that this aspect of the investigation was way over her head. Eden drew in a long breath and looked to James hoping he had a better idea of what it all meant. It was not as though Xeira was openly available for giving everyone a few lessons in...whatever the heck that stuff was.
Naturally they could only take it at face value for now, there was no way to see if the information had been doctored until they could take a closer look into the device and its programming. 'Why do folks call it that anyhow? Ain't doctors meant to fix stuff and not break it?'
Dancing on the tip of her tongue, Eden had more questions begging to be asked but for now she would save them for later.
