Tap, tap, tap.
The sound was soft and seemed so distant, yet nothing could be seen. everything was completely dark, and Henri couldn't bring herself to do anything about it. Normally, she'd call for lights and the computer would respond by illuminating the room. Yet, there was something alluring about the darkness. She wanted nothing more than to remain enveloped in it, clinging it closely to her body like a blanket on a cold, frosty night.
Tap, tap, tap.
There was the sound again. The tapping sounded closer this time, more insistent as if it were trying to gain her attention. Her brow furrowed, hoping that it would dissuade whomever was intruding upon her slumber to think twice. And who was it anyway? Only thoughts of her mother trying to wake her for school seemed to come to mind, but that was years ago. Then, again, who was in her life now and obnoxious enough to do something so childish. Only one name seemed to come to mind and that was....
BOOM, BOOM!!
Braddock's eyes immediately darted open and were met with a pair of red eyes staring into her own. Instinct kicked in as sat up and pushed her self away from the eyes. It wasn't until she bumped into something... no someone that she halted. Henri quickly looked around to see what she had collided with and found the leg of a fellow officer. Her eyes quickly moved up the rest of the body until she was able to identify its owner. It was Lieutenant Tekinson, the science officer from their team. Looking to her left she saw more bodies sprawled out, which appeared to be the rest of the team from the Kestrel. The Kestrel? They certainly weren't there any longer.
BANG, BANG!!
Her eyes went back to the crimson orbs, which barely seemed to rise above the ground. There was a tiny fist beside them, and soon a large hand seized the smaller fist. It was then that Henri noticed the red eyes turn away as the child... a child... appeared to be scolded about its mother. Henri squinted a bit, as she soon realized there were far more eyes gazing at her and the others. Everything was so bright, she quickly concluded they were on some sort of planet, but... where?
The Kestrel had been dispatched to investigate an energy signal near some planet, but... that didn't explain how they'd gotten here. "Braddock to Kest--" she began as her hand rose to tap her comm badge. However, her hand only rested over her chest. Her comm badge was gone. Turning to look at the others, Henri thought it best to begin to wake them up. Her hand reached to shake Nevir once more. "Wake up, Lieutenant," she said. Henri started to rise to her feet. Her movements seemed to capture more attention as some that had been further down began to move in her direction, pointing and gasping.
"Wake up!" Henri said. She took a step, and stumbled down to her knee. Shaking her head, she had to assume she was fighting off the effects of some sort of sedative. "Jenison! Kinin! Commander Richards!" Her eyes searched for the civilians that had come along: Landry and Tahp. It was only when her eyes rested on Tahp that she allowed herself to breathe easier. She was an Etimonian... a girl still in Henri's eyes. Perhaps that's why she felt at least partially responsible for the girl's safety.
Getting to her feet once more, and steadying herself, Henri began to move forward once more to alert her fellow crewmen. Her eyes spied a slight space that could easily house some sort of partition, yet for now it appeared vacant. "Richards!" she said once more to the Commander. Henri's eyes then moved to survey the area once again. All she could see was the people gathered around this... cell or cage, gawking at them. They seemed to marvel at the sight of them, pointing... smiling... and even using some sort of image capturing devices as far as Henri could tell. "Where the hell are we?" though, she didn't expect an answer as much as she may have preferred one.
