It got worse literally every time he woke up. Because every time he woke up, it was because he'd been put to sleep against his will.
God, why had he decided coming back out to deep space was a good idea? Why?
A slight moan escaped Nathan's lips as he woke; his head hurt like all get out, probably because somebody had hit him. He really, really hoped it hadn't been Kehlt. Of course, there might be another cool story in that: only person to get taken down by multiple Klingon males in one lifetime and live to tell about it. Unfortunately, he was pretty sure it hadn't been Kehlt. He'd been keeping a good eye on the bastard. And it hadn't been Alyssa, because she wouldn't have hit him, even if she'd thought it was for a good cause, and besides she'd been across the room. Which left one option. They were going to have words about this. Many, many testy words.
It was right about that moment when Nathan realized he wasn't lying on a cold metal floor, like he had been earlier. In fact, he was rather cozily cradled in somebody's arms, somebody who by the feel of it was either a: Klingon, or b: male. Which meant it wasn't Alyssa. Which meant he sure as hell wasn't about to be carried around by them.
Giving a (in retrospect, rather weak) yell, Nathan's eyes popped open and he rolled out of the arms that were carrying him, landing in an inelegant heap on the ground. He recovered quick, popping back up. He was used to that these days, and despite the headache, this time he didn't have the after-effect of the sedative lingering. "I can walk," he said, turning back to dart....
It was Kinin. Of course it was. They'd added insult to injury and let Kinin carry him. Many, many more testy words were added onto the others, but they would have to wait.
Apparently there was an escape on. They were all out in the corridor, at least, a few of their number having sprouted weapons from somewhere or other. He'd missed quite a bit, apparently, while he was out, including Kehlt still being an active player in all this...more was the pity. Ah well. A person couldn't have everything.
