"Cowards, all of them. They like to remain invisible, hiding behind walls and weapons, not willing to face what they have stolen."
Jonathan had hoped the Klingon would prove to give some fresh insight on the situation but there was nothing, just the usual Klingon aggression and stubbornness. His remark about rank didn't irk Jon but more give him a moment of thought in regards to Kehlt's crew, how quick had they turned on each other? With what had been said earlier, Kehlt was the only left of his crew, which actually meant something but Jon had a sinking feeling that it only meant bad tidings for them and that thought only grew as Khelt began to target his foul stench towards others.
"Strength is rare."
A curious comment, one that Jon couldn't allow himself to dwell on as Khelt approached the science officer that had isolated himself somewhat from the group. Jon moved slowly towards the pair and he could tell that the Klingon was just trying to bait Tek into something very unfavourable. To his credit, the science officer stood his ground as Khelt prodded him hard.
And then came a speech which halted Jon's advance and he had to admit, he started off really good but quickly went downhill. For a speech about not giving up it seemed that Tek was doing precisely that and Jon was truly amazed by Khelt's apparent patient in not interrupting Tek with a fist to the face.... even if his hands were bound, Jon narrowed his gaze. Was that metal? If so, it looked like they finally had a potential weapon, not to mention the big growling one as well.
"If your honor dictates that this kind of officer is acceptable for you to use as part of your tale to Stovokor,"
Jon was pretty sure that Khelt didn't care about killing in cold blood if his earlier taunts were any indication as well as the implication of what had happened to his crew. However, Jon did see the logic, or at least Tek's logic in the moment and it was quite a gamble.
But there was one thing that wasn't a gamble, Khelt's threat on his team and to Jon, he was not about to let that slide.
Jon stepped closer to the pair, he might have stepped between the two but ultimately, that would be disrespecting Tek's stand against Khelt.
Jon stared down Khelt with determined eyes, ready and alert, "Perhaps your time here has addled your brain but I suggest that you play nice because there is only one of you." Jon warned.
He had every confidence that they could take Khelt, his only concern was how much damage the Klingon could do before they could take him down, Tek being the most worrisome equation of that element.
