"Chains strong enough to hold a klingon should be strong enough to rip that thing off the wall."
Jon was glad to hear Tek's optimism and it very much reflected Jon's own hope that this time he could produce more than a tiny dent in the camera. He followed Tek to the wall and watched the man get into the position, "After I'm up use your arms to brace against the wall." He offered to hopefully spare the lad a bit of back ache.
He had considered a role reversal where he be standing and Tek would climb and honestly, that might have been easier on all parties involved but Jon wanted to be the one to stare into that mechanical eye as it hopefully died. Once he was sure of Tek's readiness, Jon stepped forward, grabbed Tek by the shoulders and lifted his foot into the air to press down onto Tek's waiting palm and with a bountiful bounce Jon reached much higher heights.
Now with both feet mostly balanced on Tek's shoulders Jon braced one of his own hands against the wall. And there, Jon stared into the camera for a split second, wishing he could see the other side. Wobbling slightly on the spot, he raised his shackled wrist to line it up just right and when instinct told him, he took the strike and satisfaction swiftly followed as he heard the faintest of sound of shattered glass.
It was small but there was most definitely a crack!
"Close your eyes, Tek." He warned as closed his own and turned his head away, trusting in his ability to hit blind. It wasn't as if his target was moving. And within seconds, Jon was once again jamming the edge of his shackle and driving it hard and fast into the centre of the camera.
The glass shattered further, the sound unmistakable this time and Jon attacked again and crushed what remained of the outer layer of protection and it was with one more hit that Jon saw, despite closed eyes, a flash of light and sudden source of heat. Jon opened his eyes and saw in the midst of the lens a tiny flame and what looked like some very burnt out innards of machinery.
"I think that's it, don't open your eyes yet!" Looking over his shoulder, Jon jumped off Tek, the chain rattling as gravity pulled it down to dangle between the two of them. Jon turned slightly away, brushed his head, displacing any shards of glass that may have fell on his head.
"Alright, follow me!" He told Tek as he began rushing over to one of the walls which he most expected the guards, if any, to come from.
