Adrian had quickly changed into casual clothes before heading to the station. He looked around for just long enough to realize that many of the residents were rushing down to the planet before taking their example and doing the same. Despite the fact that SGE was a new station, it was still just a Federation station. Sure the stores, restaurants and residents were all a bit different, but not so much that Adrian wanted to waste time there.
He'd beamed down off to one side of the Carnival, and he walked down a path through a grove of trees until he got to the main carnival grounds. He could see contortionists off to one side, but he decided to head towards the games of skill. He chuckled to himself at the title - game of skill. Frequently, they were less about skill and more about whether or not the person running the game had rigged it or not. He passed by a lady dressed in a tight bodysuit, carrying a tray of fruity looking drinks, and purchased one with credits that he'd acquired on SGE.
Taking a sip he found that the flavor was quite complex. It started out with almost a banana flavor, which had a burn reminiscent of cinnamon when it hit the back of his tongue. The second burn as it went down his throat confirmed that it was indeed heavily alcoholic. Hopefully, there wouldn't be a counseling emergency in the near future.
He looked around at the various games. There were the typical sort - feats of strength, of accuracy, and of speed. Then there were the more high tech challenges, which involved manipulating orbs with your mind. There were memory games as well, and he made his way over to one. Watching as an Etimonian attempted the game, he tried to determine what the rules were. There were crystals that lit up ina certain order. After they were done lighting up, the Etimonian hit them in the same order that they'd glowed in. it reminded Adrian of a child's toy from his past, and one that he was quite good at. So he stepped in to the line, continuing to watch the Etimonian's progress. As the game continued, the crystals flashed quicker and quicker, and the sequences got longer. It appeared that the quality of the prize was determined by how long you could continue without making a mistake. Adrian was relatively sure that he could handle it.
