"Could you please keep your hands in front of you, Lieutenant."
Robin stared at Eden, her words confirming exactly what he didn't want to hear. As far as he knew there was little reason to make such a request unless he was automatically viewed as a threat.
Just like when he had been put under investigation, an ordeal that still burned under his skin, his right cheek suddenly feeling a little bit itchy thanks to Haywood sawing it into the sand. Not his fault, just like it wasn't Eden's fault that he was being or was about to be detained shortly. It was her responsibility.
His jaw tensed but the pilot otherwise complied, separating his hands and presenting them front and centre to more than just the studious eyes of Nivans. His hands didn't remain static for long however as she dictated the next page in the book, handing over his commbadge. This time he didn't hesitate hoping the sooner he got through this the sooner he'd get out.
"Lieutenant Star, you are being detained,"
Robin barely reacted, a short breath in and a resigned nod.
"No." He answered in response to carrying anything dangerous as he raised his arms to receive the customary pat-down and found himself more unnerved by that than anything else. It was humiliating, being expected to just follow through like an object on a conveyor belt without questioning anything.
Of course, Robin could question a hell of a lot but this time around that there was little point in doing so until later. For now he had to tame his frustrations and focus it on something far more useful, like imagining a certain Admiral or two rolling over a fire. He had no proof either one was behind this but the hot red angry magma hiding under his skin did well to fuel his bias.
Shortly after Eden lead him to his cell which soon changed when Cobus appeared, causing Robin's jaw to drop slightly. What was... and just like that he stood in the same cell as well. The pilot frowned, staring at Cobus as if he were a ghost.
This was just like...
Liz! What was she doing here?! Robin blinked, growing increasingly flabbergasted. They had been here before but then the entire script flipped on its head and a whole slew of individuals were suddenly sharing his, no, this cell together.
Robin's mask of indifference fell when the field buzzed to life for what he hoped was the last time. Why were they all here, he thought it was just... his fingers found the side of his head, massaging the temple in an effort to ignore the rising headache.
No no no, this wasn't good!
Not only did he see the events of the last brig summons but now he was being reminded of a far worse day. Robin stared at T'Rai, the blue reminding him of Boribeth. To Jeven in red he saw Liandra and the blue guy in yellow he saw Pesh'ewa.
Robin swallowed, a cold chill rushing down his spine and paralysing him in place until Jeven's voice broke him out of his thousand-yard stare only to blink at him. Common thread? Other than the exaggerated one that was floating inside his head?
This isn't Ellusia... Robin told himself in an attempt to calm down and focus on the now. A new situation.
He glanced around at the others, frowning before ultimately shaking his head. "Nope, only that the last time I was called into the brig, so were Commander Sur'Shess and Rok." He said.
Then Liz piped up quietly, non-humans.
“And Robin,”
Robin stared at Liz trying to decipher the motivation for her cliff-note, did she not know? Or was she just emphasising him for being the most visually human. He didn't quite blame her, most of his life he had often been beckoned to his human side, the most recent years especially ever since the accidental that rendered his Betazoid abilities useless...
Mostly useless.
But that wasn't the most pressing matter, it was the fact that they had all specifically been chosen because they weren't fully human.
Landeck... it has to be him...
Robin looked around, did they know? The pilot glanced to the forcefield half expecting to see Haywood shaking his head at him for it was he who had warned him about Landeck. Was it too late?
